Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Buying Software...

I've just returned to Ireland after almost a decade abroad. I'm trying to get on my feet, and need to get the usual apps to try to get started... but everyone is charging subscriptions now & its way beyond my means... Does anyone know where I can pick up slightly older, legitimate copies of software for a reasonable price?

    I need:
Adobe Suite (CS6 or even earlier would be fine)
AutoCAD (nearly any version would be fine)
Office (looks like I can pick up a full license for about €90 on Amazon)

... I can't be paying over three hundred euro a month for software that I will use sporadically.

Could you use draft sight, instead of autocad?

Thanks, but although I don't use the software extensively, I need to be able to manage my workflows & be compatible with other professionals. I really do need the specific software, although not the latest versions. I really don't mind paying, but the monthly subscriptions are crazy...

I don't mind paying the €90 for a permanent copy of Office but can't justify the others... I just can't afford it.

You could try ebay but buyer beware in terms of licenses etc.

Thanks for the feedback. I have decided to buy the consumer level options... Adobe Photoshop & Premiere Elements as well as Microsoft Office, all permanent licenses...

It's a bit of a bodge but I'll somehow manage until I commercialise. I'm still missing Autocad & that is a major ****up for me... I can't spend €230 a month...

As mentioned above,Draft sight is pretty good for 2d, you can use all the autocad commands in the command line. Looks like autocad 2006. Saves in DXF or DWG. The only issues is (I think, will have to check) it comes up with a prompt when a drawings is opened in autocad that it was not produced or saved last in autocad (or something to that effect).
