side extension - is it possible?

Hello, I would like to ask about the possibility of building a side extension to the house.

There are two exits to the current garden, one is coming out from the rear extension, the other is side door from kitchen/utility room. I would like this door to be used as a connection to the new structure.

The extension built to the side would need to have separate front door and window plus other windows on the roof and in the rear (bathroom type).

The idea is to create a separate dwelling consisting of living/kitchen area, leading to a bedroom, leading to shower/toilet. Considering the available shape of the construction it would be narrow but long.

Floor dimensions between walls are as follows:
    width: 255cm length: 960cm

Please see attached pictures of the property.

Current extension to the rear has a size of 3.94m x 4.99m

I would like to hear your opinion on the following matters:

    1) Is possible to create such extension?
    2) planning permission will be needed? ( if so how much does it cost and is it hard to obtain - how long is the process? )
    3) What would be estimated cost of creating such construction?
    5) What would be estimated "living area" considering the walls, etc will eat up some space.

    Thanks,

    Adam

    What do you want?
    Extension or separate dwelling?
Both of these have different requirements and require different levels of planning Inpit and design.

Also, the difference between the 2 cost wise is far apart.

I want to create a studio or 1bed ensuite that is attached to the side of the house with a possibility to walk into this new creation from the main house, but mostly to have this side door closed - and the studio rented out.

    Thank you,

IMO no. A 2.5m wide flat!

    Edit:
    1. As above
    2. Yes, regardless of what is constructed
3/4. Suggest you demolish and incorporate the existing single storey extension. This could (subject to planning/proper design/ building regs) mean a separate 2 storey dwelling or single storey apartment.
