Hi I have been working in my current Job for 4 months now so I am still on my 6 month probation period. A job offer has came along that I simply cannot refuse as its a lot more money and will open many doors for me on the future! In my contract it says I have to give 4 week notice but in the section about my probation period it says all the employer have to give is 1 week notice for the termanation of my contract so is this the same for me as I am on lrobation period ? Any response would help so much!

1 week is quite sufficient and more than fair.

    Give them two weeks.

A month at this stage would be madness and very hard to enforce.

Does the contract term of a month's notice only apply to those who have successfully completed probation?

Generally while on probation it's one weeks notice from either party to terminate the contract. So you believe they can let you go and only pay one week's notice but you have to give them a month? I've never come across that. The fact that you seem to have to give a month's notice while they (the employer and the one with most power) only have to give one week would be an unfair term under the circumstances. IMO a week is fine. Give your notice and explain your situation. Make sure no deductions are made from your salary.

Just tell them, might make a counter offer.
