Should I leave my job

So atm I'm in a fast food job. I'm just wondering if it is bad to accept a job offer for a customer service type of job or any type of job, then leave after 3/5 months to go work in a dream job or go to college. Not sure if I should leave with the possibility of getting a bad reference especially if I know that they would be looking for me to develop my career with them and the fact that I know for definite my dream job would look for my current employer as a reference.

Could you stay on part time?

Don't let the job hold you back if you can get up the ladder or better the work or college go for it.

Give notice and maybe speak to manager but be sure you are going for it as they may just want you gone if you make them aware.

A guess from your username is you're 19/20 years old? Don't let nothing get in the way of your dream job - Do you want to end up in a fast food joint for the sake of a reference? There are other options.

    Hi Op

If you land a better job first, then there is no problem with leaving. Repeated pattern of short employment stints is a red flag to future employers.

i would advise stick with the current job until a better role is landed.

Yeah, I will be leaving the job anyway to go for my dream job or college. It's whether or not basically to leave now or wait until I get the opportunity for college/dream job because one place has said to me basically it's an opportunity to develop my career etc which I won't be doing. And I don't want to leave on bad terms or leave with a bad reference.

If you're at a job less than six months, you're probably still in your probationary period where you can leave at any time without notice.
At worst, give notice and leave if something better has come along.
