    Hi,
I'm going for planning for a new house alongside my uncles house. We want to use his well to supply both houses. Is this allowed, assuming I can show the council the flow is adequate for two homes and we comply with separation distances etc? Obviously we will have our own septic tank etc.

What does you eng/arch have to say?

    Should be ok.
Brother got planning last year and like me uses the well from our farm, he just had to include a right of access to service the well with the site transfer, same as ourselves.

My engineer says that the planners can't stop you from using one well for two houses, providing the well is strong enough and you have the consent of the well owner.
