Cat smells

    Hi everyone,
Been a while since I posted in this part of the forum!
Anyway, one of our cats managed to get out of their run the other day and seemed to get into a fight on Saturday evening. We found a load of clumps of fur in the middle of the garden and he had a bit if fur which looked stained with blood on his chest. He was a bit quiet that evening but didn't eat a thing yesterday and barely moved from the sofa in the sun room.
He seemed a bit better today but is shying away from us (he's usually full of beans and loves his cuddles) and his bum absolutely stinks!!
I'm wondering if he might have an infected wound but he's a bit livelier than yesterday (albeit incredibly hesitant and timid).
The smell is very strange though because he's usually immaculately groomed!
A common side-effect after a big fight? I'm considering bringing him to the vet tomorrow if he's still like this in the morning. :(

I hate to state the obvious, but if he also hasn't eaten today and there's a pungent smell coming from his body, I would take him to the vet. Cats are really good at disguising pain; not eating is a big indicator that something isn't right.

Yeah I'll see if he eats any of his supper but I reckon a trip to the vet tomorrow is in order

Fur in the garden, blood on his chest, bad smell, acting strange, not eating. Id take him to the vet first thing regardless of his supper.

I've just managed to get a really close look at him. I thought the smell was coming from his bum but it's actually coming from inside his right ear which has been at a slight angle the last two days.
I nearly vomited when I took a sniff. Looks like he's got an infected wound. Right, he's booked in for the vet tomorrow. Poor guy
