Yes, the specs look perfect for me.
Was considering a Xiaomi phone but if the Nokia is €400 and has stock android, it's a winner!

Were last years Nokia's available sim-free anywhere in Ireland or will I need to be looking on Amazon or similar?

I'm fairly sure Argos stocks a few of them, and Amazon have them.

Perfect. My Nexus 6p has started to get the battery killing bug again so I'm just looking for a reason to replace it.
Will wait on reviews then try and pick one up in April.

Positive hands on article from Android Central.
I really like the white version.

it definitely looks like a more affordable Pixel.

I wonder how the Snapdragon 660 will handle Android One, though.

I'd say like a charm, the benchmarks I've seen for the 660 suggest that it'll run stock Android like I would a bag of chips after a few scoops, i.e. speedily and with the greatest of ease.

The Nokia 6 (2018) is causing less waves, but with a Snapdragon 630, a 3000 mah battery and Android One for €289 for the 3gb/32gb version, it's another interesting option.

Should be fine. My Nexus 6p is running Oreo with no performance issues.
The 6p uses the 810 chip and it's not great for battery life.

Some comparisons in the link below. The 660 runs faster (higher clock rate and ram speeds) and is also using the smaller fab size so should be better on the battery.
