The police rang yestèrday, in subdued fashion,to speak to my wife (owner of the car) about some alleged dangerous driving by me from back in November! Another driver has alleged I was 'all over the place and on the wrong side of the road'. I have some recollection of swiftly overtaking - but within the speed limit - and being harshly flashed by the oncoming car.
Honestly! I think my best policy under the circumstances of such a delay is to claim no recollection rather than get into a their word against mine stand off? Police just going thro the process? Any advice?

    Ask for proof.

Unless it was witnessed by a Guard or a traffic cam, then personally I would fight it. At the end of the day its his word against yours. Your innocent until they can prove you did it.

Are you sure it was them?

Realise there may be dash cam footage and/or multiple witnesses.

In your OP you seem to recollect some of the incident. Further on in the post you are suggesting that you will claim to have no recollection.
We do not like that in Legal Discussion.
