Missing vehicle registration cert

    I am trading in my car tomorrow. I can't find the vehicle registration cert. I got tge relevant form filled in today by the guards and myself. Can i go to the motor tax office tomorrow and buy a new one or do i need to post it in amd wait a week or so for it in the post?

    You can go to the MTO but it will be posted to you from Shannon

    It will speed the process up as you don't know the Postal application backlog in the MTO.

    Thanks for the replies. I had a notion it wouldn't be as simple as going to the motor tax office in the morning ðŸ˜.

    I'll call the garage and see if they will do the trade in without it tomorrow but wuth the promise of me dropping it into them asap.

    If you talk nicely to the garage and if they are nice people they will most likely do it for you with no hassle to you,

    Update: Got to speak to speak to someone in Shannon. Posted applications can take considerably longer to process than paying a visit to the motor tax office. If you go to the motor tax office and pay for it there, it will be printed in Shannon and posted the following day.

    Anyhow....the garage were fine about it and posted off the form for me today. I'm home with my new car this evening.
