Seiko Diver Water Ingress (I think)

Looking for some advice, I've a Seiko automatic diver that I think had some ingress several years ago when I was on holiday. I just wound it tonight and it's running 2 mins slow in the last 20. It was loosing a lot of time over 24 hours.

The min hand is sweeping well and the watch itself is perfect, I'm just wondering what my options are, can I get it fixed or is it cheaper to purchase a new movement. It's a day/date model.

I was also thinking of selling it as is, I can't remember the model nr, but it was approx 150 quid 10 years ago and it's a sub homage.

I would like to get it back to health as I love the watch but don't want to spend too much.

So, if I sell it, what should ask for, if I repair, how much should I spend so I wouldn't exceed a new one.

Sounds like a skx031, still quite a desirable watch in the modding community. Is the serial number on the 7s26-0040?

If you got water in it 2 years ago the movement would be banjaxed by now, not 2 mins slow.

I suspect (as is the case with the one I just got), the movement needs a service as it's old and the oils have gone. It's about 40 USD for a new one from the regular places (servicing is 2-3x more expensive so why bother). If you are lucky, as Seiko movements are tough it could just be a lack of winding, as they are designed to be worn all the time and timekeeping drops as the power reserve drops.

£150 on eBay in good nick with original bracelet in good nick (no good after market ones available). Maybe more in a bidding war.

Probably 100 to 150 euro worst case to source and fit the new movement, it's not a tricky job for a horologist with the right tools. Would be dirt cheap if you can find/trust a modder.

I've checked, closer to £200+ on eBay, if you do list label both as skx031 and 7S26-0040 to get the most hits.
