i can't find anything on how to cancel my illness benefit - today they are off work

    any ideas anyone? about the process in particular?

    i'll ring them on monday but i am anxious about it - might have left it two weeks late

    You dont cancel your illness benefit. You have to bring a Final Cert to the Dpt of SW, your local office, that your GP would have given you. This has the final date of your illness on it.
    By all means call them on monday but be prepared to be on hold for a while. Have your PPS number to hand as well.

    Have you been handing in sick certs? The official yellow ones from your GP? As mentioned above you get a final cert from your GP stating the date you are fit to return to work. If you just stop handing in the certs, they'll stop paying you.

    If you have been handing in long term certs (every month/6 months whatever) then be sure to get a final cert from your GP on Monday and drop it in. That's all you have to do.
