My Neighbour is saying who ever claims a part of the party wall

He is saying his barrister says that who ever builds on it first claims that part of the wall. I find this hard to believe as the party wall is shares by both owners.

Tell him to get his barrister to contact your barrister to arrange a boundary wall agreement.

    Absolute rubbish from your neighbor.

    Now for the boring part.

Best to work with each other.
Is your neighbor building an extension?
Best to get a sold structural wall built centered on the boundary now so that you can use it to extend in the future should you wish.

You both get extra space, no hassle with overhanging or dead spaces between 2 extensions.

People don't really have barristers, they have solicitors who engage barristers.

Pretty crazy story alright. Maybe the neighbour discussed it over coffee with his Barista?

+1 kceire & tedpan. Think this neighbour might be hard to work with! Probably will look for OP to pay for the full wall!
