    Is there really an issue here? I know people don't like ones that have been used for mining but I had a 7990 that had been used for heating - I mean - mining and it was grand.

    Surely transistor on, transistor off - makes bugger all difference if the life has been reduced from 100 years to 75 years of on/offness. Me buggering about clocking the bollocks off things is surely more damaging. See my poor 4970K.

    Thermal cycles, load hours for MOSFETs etc matter.

    If you're on 24/7 your MOSFETs rated at 10k hours are out of rating at 1.13yrs, typically they last longer but you're closer to death than birth.
