Can anyone suggest a large quiet car park on the south side to take my son to this Sunday & teach him a few basics of driving before he starts his proper driving lessons?

There is a large car park in sandyford Ind estate, near the park and ride, where Atlantic home are used to be. It's normally quiet on weekend evenings

The old Atlantic carpark in Sandyford is usually pretty empty on weekend...other than maybe a few people doing exactly what you are doing.

Thanks a mil for that! I actually used that very car park for my daughter about 6 years ago but just wasn’t sure if it was still open as I haven’t thankfully had to put myself through the torture of first time driving with my kids since then!!

Ah that’s a brilliant suggestion! We live beside St Endas park so that’s only up the road from us. Thanks so much!

Try the Curaheen dog track. It's where I first learned the basics.
