Knocking down a derelict house for a prefab

    Hi All,

Hopefully someone might be able to help.

I have a bit of land with an old ruined house that has not been lived in for decades in a very rural area.

I have never lived in the area myself.

Am I on a highway to nothing applying to demolish it and replace it with a pre built prefab type structure like a shomera?

    Thanks !

Yes, is the short and sweet answer.

You'd probably be better to apply for permission to renovate the existing cottage and return it to habitable use.

Isn't there something now about a derelict house having no planning status... So just because you've a pile of stones doesn't mean you've a site....
