where to get power supply for Philips Aura light

It's an led power supply. The wires coming out of the plug have frayed and are hanging on by a thread. When they meet, sometimes they spark so
I've had to stop using it.

The plug is sealed so no way of getting into it to re-attach the wires.

Do I have to use a specific led plug or will any power supply do?

Anyone? Contacted the seller but they told me they do not have a spare plug available. I've attached a pic of the plug.

The Phillips HF12 adaptor is marked a discontinued on the Phillips part store. Both of the below links will power your light. Both 24V/12W output and centre pin positive.

Many thanks. Can I just snip the end off the wire, take the wire out of the lamp and connect the new one or can I splice the two? Does it matter which way the wires are connected or can I just twist them together?

The frayed wire on your current setup is what connects the mains plug to a DC jack (a cylindrical plug) which goes into the Aura light. You need to unplug the DC jack from the Aura light, then discard it along with the frayed lead and the original Phillips mains plug. You will be replacing the lot with the adapter and cable recommended by poster beherenow. You won't be snipping or joining any cables, it's a straight like for like replacement.

There is according to the photo of the plug you posted in your second post. Beside 'Model HF12' there is a diagram of a DC jack showing the polarity - negative outside, positive centre pin.

In the first of the two photos you posted last, what's underneath the circular base? Where does the cable from the plug arrive at the device, is it the cable coming in from the right or is it connected to the underside of that white circular base in the photo i.e. below the brown and black connector? It's not clear from the photo which end of that cable is fed from the plug.

The cable runs from the sealed plug (frayed at entrance) right through to the bottom of the lamp base and straight into the red and black connectors.

Ok, you still need to buy a 24V/12W AC adapter and you will need to snip off the DC jack, strip back the insulator to expose the wires and connect them into the brown and black connector. As it's a DC device with no complicated circuitry, the polarity shouldn't matter.

All good advice. It looks like the same psu as the Philips hue go. The LV end on it is standard enough and you might be lucky to get a PSU with a matching DC plug.

Look at the Philips hue Go PSU see if you could get one if it suits
