Liftshare/Alternative transport South Dub->Kill?

    Missus has been offered a job, starting in a few weeks time in Kill, Kildare. However, we wont have a second car for at least a couple of weeks after she starts. Public transport would have her nearly 2 hours each way and multiple changes.

    Anyone any ideas on options like liftsharing? Alternatively, anyone work out there know if there are private shuttle companies servicing the big companies out there?

    Any thoughts welcomed

    Would be cheap enough to hire a car for the first week, she might find out that a colleague lives nearby and would be interested in a contribution to fuel costs, and then you could avoid the car purchase.
    She can't borrow your car for the first few weeks?
    There was a lift sharing website but it's kaput now, is her workplace on an industrial estate? Might be some way of asking around for a lift in advance.

    Thanks, appreciate the considered response. My car not an option at all as need for my own work.

    Tried that liftsharing site. It is, as you say, kaput.

    Her work will be in an industrial site somewhere out there. Had hoped there might be a private shuttle company operating given numbers working out around there. No joy from what I can see. As you say, hopefully once she has the foot in the door, she finds someone in her work who travels similar route

    Other thing considered was cab to bus stop somewhere along second leg of bus journey. Potentially saves a good 45 mins. Obv, have to figure whether makes sense moneywise.

    When you add in the cost of afternoon carer as well, i hope she comes out up a few quid for her week's work!
