    Hi guys,

I'm building a new extension/family room so plan is to add the B7 with a decent sound system, thinking soundbar as I plan on moving within 5 years so wiring up Atmos is more a future plan when I move so looking for a simple system for now, I'm not an audiophile by any means and my viewing would be primarily sport over movies.

Looking for recommendations please, budget probably up to €500

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi FightingIrish.

You could pair the 55B7 up with LG's own SJ8 coming in at 399.00 euro
    http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-202563-318889.aspx

I currently have a deal on the Monitor Audio ASB10. Retailing at 499.99 euro - I could do a boards deal at 350.00 Euro
    http://euro.richersounds.ie/p-13034-asb10.aspx

Let me know if either of these might suit.

Thanks for that, I like the style of the SJ8 alright, have looked at it previously as an option.

So many options for soundbars but I'm guessing its a good spec/sound at that price if you guys are recommending it yeah?

That's a cracking discount on the Monitor ASB10, looks a bit 'boxy' for my liking, any similar deals on the SJ8?

    Thanks.

    Hi FightingIrish.

The best I could offer the SJ8 for would be 377 Euro.

Unfortunately there is very little movement on this one.

Thanks for that, hoping to push the button soon on a B7 and SJ8 from yourselves, does the SJ8 come with the T8 bracket included for mounting? I read that some people received them when purchasing the SJ8.

    Hi FightingIrish,

I have checked the LG SJ8 and our specs say it comes with a wall bracket. I'm not 100% sure if it's the T8 though as it will not specify the model number but it does have a bracket available.

    Kind regards

    Hi FightingIrish,

    LG SJ8
    Sanus BLF213

Total: 2263 euro including shipping and a 6 year guarantee on the TV.

Let me know what you think.

    Hi FightingIrish,

In this thread he was quoted for a tilting bracket. As the Cantilevers have more moving parts the cost pricing is different and I don't have as much movement on the price of them unfortunately. I could just about stretch the total price to 2248 euro if you want to go ahead with that?

Let me know what you think.

    Kind regards

Hoping to push the button on a B7 soon, still undecided on a good soundbar for it, been reading up on the Yamaha 2700 and a lot of people seem very happy with it..

What do you guys recommend yourselves, interested to hear your opinions.

    Thanks,

    James.

    Hi FightingIrish.

The YSP2700 is excellent and very well reviewed and has been given a 5 star review in What HiFi.
Its pretty well packed with features and connections and there are very few at the same price point to compare.

You could have a check at the 5 star reviewed Philips Fidelio B5 priced at £649.00
    https://www.richersounds.ie/p-201805-fidelio-b5.aspx

To get noticeably better quality than the 2700 you would be looking at the likes of the LG SJ9 priced at £749.00
    https://www.richersounds.ie/p-202569-sj9.aspx

Next up would be the fantastic Philips Fidelio B8 coming in at £799.00
    https://www.richersounds.ie/p-202411-fidelio-b8.aspx

Let me know what you think.

The more I read up on these things, the more the mind boggles lol

As a package, what's this like performance wise in comparison to high end sound bars, I'm guessing it would be superior but interested in any advice guys, apologies for all the questions  I'm new to all this and don't want any regrets

    Hey FightingIrish.

Yeah, the options are nearly limitless (Budget depending).

The Onkyo Atmos 5.1.2 pack would be very good and sound much better than any sound bar at the same price and above. In my opinion.
It would give more connections and just as many features (Bluetooth, streaming etc....)

You would be more than happy with this as your home cinema setup.

Thanks Kenny, the Mrs thinks it's too bulky, she's pushing me for soundbar, she's insisting on a 'simple, clean' set up.

I have a week or so to work on her lol

Thanks again, have a good weekend

    James.

Ok guys, I'm ready to push the button with a new B7, still not decided on a soundbar to pair it with so may come back to that unless there's any super duper boardsie deal available that might tempt me??

If you can PM me to make payment please, thanks for all your help.

    James.

    Hi FightingIrish.

Unfortunately there are no listed bundle deals on the 55B7 with a soundbar at present.

Like I mentioned above, it really depends on your budget as there are many options on soundbars, sound bases and full home cinema systems.

One of the best deals and the minute would be on the Q acoustics M4 priced at £249.00
    http://www.richersounds.ie/p-200641-black-200641.aspx

We currently have deals on the Monitor Audio ASB10 - retails at £399 but we are clearing at £199.00
    http://www.richersounds.ie/p-13034-asb10.aspx

We have our ex-display Arcam Solo Bar - Retails at £399 and again we are clearing at £199.00
    http://www.arcam.co.uk/range/solo/solobar.htm

We also have an open box Sony HTCT390 - Retails for £199 - We are clearing at £149.00
    http://www.richersounds.ie/p-202148-htct390.aspx

If you drop me your contact number in a PM we can give you a call to sort the order.

    Hi Kenny

Me again, have narrowed my soundbar choice down the the Yamaha ysp 2700 or the Sony ht-zf9, Yamaha just edging it for me as I'm not convinced of Atmos performance from a soundbar and also I don't think my room will be suited as its quite large with a high ceiling

What's the best boardsie offer you could do for a Yamaha 2700 with a wall mount too?

    Thanks

    James

    Hi FightingIrish.

Unfortunately I have no movement on the YSP2700 at the current £569.00 price.
It really is a cracking soundbar and 5 star reviewed in What HiFi.

The wall mount would be the SPMK20 and i could offer this for £43.00

I could also offer to ship the items free of charge.

    Hi guys,

Have only got my new equipment set up in the last few weeks due to building delays etc. hoping someone can help

The B7 is great, love it, the sound bar (YSP 2700) is my issue, I've connected my STB directly to the bar and then ARC back to the TV as is the norm, however its almost impossible to get it to play from when I turn it on, keep getting 'NO SIGNAL, CHECK CONNECTIONS' the only way I can get it to work is to reboot the STB and then it plays fine? Surely I shouldn't have to reboot the STB every time I switch source?

I've tried different HDMI cables to be on the safe side but no joy, I've googled it endlessly and tried all the settings, seems like I'm not the only one with the same problem

Tried yesterday to put the STB source direct to the TV and arc back to the bar and its seems to work but I'm guessing I'll miss out on some of the capabilities of the bar then, which obviously I don't want to do as I purchased this high end bar because of the spec and capabilities.

If anyone can shed some light on this it would be much appreciated.

    Thanks,

    James.

    Hi James.

Sorry to hear of the issue you are having.

We have had one of these connected several time to our in-store STB or demos and never seemed to have any issues.
What type of STB do you have?
Have you tried connecting any other sources to the soundbar to see if the issue also happens with them or is it only the STB?

Using the ARC from the televisions will not lose any features of the soundbar. Dolby digital is probably the best audio format the STB can output and the television via ARC would be just as good an audio signal. All of the other features for the soundbar will still operate the same.

If you are still having issue you can return the soundbar to us and we can give it a good test over.

    Let me know your thoughts.

Thanks for getting back to me, I'm gonna give it a few more days to see if I can figure it out, last night for example, I couldn't bring up the settings menu for the bar on screen, I could when I had the STB direct to the bar (STB is a Mag box used for IPTV)

Appreciate the offer to check it out and I may take you up on it, just wanted to see if there was something obvious that I had been doing wrong first.

I'll let you know how I get on

    Thanks,

I'll let you know how I get on

    Thanks,

    James.
    No worries James.

Did you try dropping Yamaha a call as their support team know their stuff!

    Keep me posted.

    Hi Fighting Irish.

Thanks for coming back to us but unfortuantely the B7's have now been discontinued for a few months with no more stock available.

The current range starts at the 55B8S priced at £1479.00 or 1699 Euro
    https://www.richersounds.ie/p-203506-lg-oled55b8s-55-inch-oled-4k-ultra-hd-hdr-smart-tv-freeview-play.aspx

I could offer a bit of a deal at £1450 with free shipping

    Hey FightingIrish.

Sorry to hear you are having issue with the B7.
We get very very few issues on the OLED's.

If you drop the guys who deal with our service issues an email at Service@Richersounds.ie with your details and the fault they will arrange for an engineer to call out to you if required.

Also if possible could you maybe try and take a picture of the issue as I know LG usually always ask for this first.

Any questions please let me know.
