Golf 1.5 TSi release date

    Hi all

I’m close to pulling the trigger on a new golf high line, 2.0 TDi 150hp with DSG

I was trying to buy one 1 or 2 years old but the the current deals going new is nearly the same price.

I’ve just noticed in the UK the golf is coming with the 1.5 TSI but in Ireland it is not.

My commute is limerick to Dublin return twice every week and from looking at reviews the 1.5 TSi is a cracking engine.

I asked my local dealer for a release date for the 1.5 and he is saying it will be towards the end of the year but I get the feeling this is just to get me to deal on the 2.0tdi now.

My question is what engine would you go for and does anyone know of a rough release date for the new engine ?

    Thanks in advance

    Paul

Leon is old design so gets stuck with old 1.4. Ibiza is new design and gets the 1.5 TSI.

The 1.5 is compatible with the old platform. It's pure marketing and approvals, not technical constraints

Yeah I'm thinking as much as you can buy the golf new in the UK with the 1.5 TSI
