    Hello,
Query on VAT 58. What if you build a shed for farming purposes(uses his uncles herd number to trade cattle) but dont have a herd number or are not considered a farmer by revenue? Could you claim the VAT back.
Should he get his own herd number etc?
If he does would he be able to claim the VAT on the shed retrospectively?

Get in touch with IFAC as they deal with Farming specifically. They'll be able to advise on your entitlement on what you may or may not be able to claim back VAT on.
