I just thought there seemed to be a lack/absence of a Group on Flickr for Dodder Wildlife- considering the number of enthusiasts and photographers I have come across along the Dodder banks in the last 18 months

    So I have started one!

All welcome to join and add

Maybe it was tried before and died a death... anyway it's worth a go:)

Good title for a book that keps. You could easily fill it with all the quality photos you take along there.

Specifically Clonmacnoise Grove as I notice a Heron that hangs around a few of the houses in that area.

it's not, the poddle would be much nearer.

possibly worth setting up a parallel facebook group? lots more people on facebook than on flickr.

I was unsure where to put this but given that my interest is in the wildlife of the area rather than just vandalism...

Anyway, a recent visit to the Dodder (Dropping Well to the Ely Arch on Dodder Park Road) I noted these sad looking seats that had received the attention of the local village idiots. The said benches can't have looked much better when new but do nothing for the area in their present state - could they not at least be maintained? I know the whole route of the walk is subject to ongoing discussion but in the meantime..

That apart, I enjoyed my walk and saw my first Dipper in about 50 years! The last time was at the bridge in Enniskerry circa 1971. I was unable to get a photograph as unlike the seats it wasn't bolted down and the presence of five (!) dogs off their leads scared it to the far side of the river. What should eventually become a great amenity for the area needs some serious thought and is unsuitable as a place for dog owners to let their charges run wild.

I've just joined this group https://www.dodderaction.org and I hope their enthusiasm pays off.

I should be in the area quite a lot in the coming months and hopefully will take some more pleasing photographs. Sorry for hijacking the thread. :)
