... I am thinking of Jawgap and other long distance specialists from that part of the world..!

I have heard Matthews coaches allows bikes in the undercarriage. Just wondering how that arragement would be. Is the space big enough for the bike to be upright - and couple of locks to hold it in place? Or should be on it's side? Would it get wrecked bags/suitcases heading to the airport? Thinking of getting 6:30am or 7 am service into Dublin (and bike back to Drogheda.. or vice versa).

    Thanks!!

Been a few years since I've used them, but I do recall the undercarriage being quite roomy on a lot of their coaches. That time of morning was mainly commuters / students so not a hell of a lot going in there. I've not had cause to take my bike on them but did see some others put them in there occasionally, lying non drive side down.

I'd give them a quick call tbh, I've found them pretty good to deal with on the few occasions I've had to call and check things.

A mate of mine brings his bike every day on Matthews bus, never has any bother.

i have heard of bikes being stolen out of the belly of the bus, so do be sure to lock it. I wouldnt put a good bike in there, but havent had any issues any time I used them

Thanks guys. Anythoughts on how to lock a bike lying on it's side securely enough that it won't slosh about in the undercarriage? I have only one bike... I think I will take two simple cable locks and experiment... hopefully the driver won't drive off while I am inside...!!
