VW Polo S 60 Aux problem!

I recently purchased a 2010 VW Polo S 60 and it came with an adapter for the radio. On the adapter is an Aux, USB and an old Iphone charger and this is connected into the radio. My problem is that when I plug my phone into the AUX it doesn't play the music through the radio, but it shows up that the aux has been connected…

My problem is that when I plug my phone into the AUX it doesn't play the music through the radio, but it shows up that the aux has been connected and when I plug my phone charging USB into the female USB on the adapter it also charges my phone. Just wondering if anyone has any ideas about this! Thanks for your time
