Bought a new build and have to decide on flooring. Just wondering what other folk have done or would recommend. I was thinking laminate downstairs and in bedrooms with carpet on stairs and landing. Other half doesn't want carpet at all.

    Is it an apartment?

    Presumably tiles in kutcgen/bathroom.

Purely for noise insulation I would definitely have carpet on stairs and bedrooms. In fact what else could you have on stairs?

Carpet also lasts longer plus you can get it fitted after snagging whereas laminate looks ugly with extra beading. I have semi solid and it has aged worse than my carpet
