Hi folks, my sister is awaiting biopsy results, however lung cancer seems inevitable. She is 50, non smoker. Large masses were detected in her lung, chest cavity and shoulder.

The statistics aren't giving me much hope but I would love to hear some positive stories here.

Very sorry to hear this. My family have received similar news about my mother but it's in different locations. I wish I could post positive news but sadly not.

We have only known three weeks and it's hard for the news to sink in.

Hopefully your sister received positive news.

Thanks Lisa. So sorry about your Mother.

Unfortunately, my sister has Stage 4 Non-small cell lung cancer. It is in her shoulder, chest cavity, bone in her back and one kidney.

Thanks Lisa. So sorry about your Mother.

Unfortunately, my sister has Stage 4 Non-small cell lung cancer. It is in her shoulder, chest cavity, bone in her back and one kidney.

We still don't know what type of lung cancer my mother has. Pathologists at St James Hospital were having difficulty in determine it. Hopefully that changes.

It doesn't matter anyway as she doesn't have long left to live which is a night mare I wish I could wake up from. She has it in her spine hip and pelvis. It looks like tumor in the lung formed the same time as every where else and it wouldn't have matter if it was caught at Christmas.

Oh Lisa, I'm so sorry. Did they tell your mother that? My sister is doing okay...it's complicated because oncologist is suggesting chemotherapy.

Sadly my mother passed away on Easter Sunday. We don't know exactly how long she had the lung cancer but it started spreading quickly and 5 week's and 2 days after being admitted for back pain she died.

To make everything worse it was only 12 months and 9 day's after my aunt's passing that my mother died.

My grandmother is still alive and shouldn't have to outlive two of her kid's.

Milford Care Center says it was metastatic non small cell lung cancer.

    Thank you.

I never thought at 33 I would see my mother pass away. She only turned 66 last October.

She isn't suffering anymore which is good.

Have hope please. My mother had lung cancer 24 years ago. The diseased lung was removed and today at 89 she is still hail and hearty and even still has the daily cigarette!! Have you heard of immunotherapy, if can do wonders I believe. I recently heard of a man who 4 years ago had it on his back brain and lung and doing great now thanks to immunotherapy. I myself have stage 3 ovarian but immunotherapy is not yet in Ireland for if I believe. Hopefully it can be rolled out here very soon if anyone can give me any information i would be so grateful. Please don't give up for your sister she needs hope and positivity it's all we have at the end of the day that little ray of hope. It's a mind-blowing and very frightening place to be. I'll remember her and you all in my prayers and fight this with her.
