If a person is remanded to custody. If the prison fails to bring them to their court sitting?

    That's not a proper question.

Has a person missed their court appearance because they are on remand?

While in custody, if they fail to appear at court due to no fault of their own.

They obviously wont receive a sanction as it wasn't their fault. They should talk to their solicitor ASAP.

Will the Courts Service or Prison Service necessarily be aware of all summons against an individual in custody?

    Surely the courts service would?!

The courts service knows about the summons issued to you. The prisons service knows that they have you in custody. Obviously there has to be some communication, somewhere, so that the prison service knows about summons issued in respect of people in custody and, equally obviously, any communications arrnagement can fail from time to time. You can't (and won't) be sanctioned for non-appearance if the reason for your non-appearance was that you were in prison at the time and the prison service failed or refused to bring you to court in accordance with the summons.

Can the Prison service refuse to allow a person summoned to a court?

Acting the maggot. Illness. Lack of resources. As long as the proper notice is given.
