My android TV box M8S don't have Google play services anymore and I am unable to watch anything on it now.

Any idea how do I fix it? Tried my best for the last hour but no luck.

    Thank you

What version of android are you running? Most of the older boxes are obsolete. You need to be on Android 5.0 upwards

Firstly there's a whole thread on Android Boxes HERE

You'll likely get more help there. But see and try the solution from @Mrcaramelchoc below.

If that doesn’t work try the following.........

Delete your Google Play Store data in Settings Apps All Google Play Store Clear data. Delete data from Google Services Framework as well (note: this will assign a new Google ID to your device, as if you had factory reset it, meaning your Google apps may temporarily act up afterward).

Delete your Google account on the device, reboot your phone and re-add your Google account in Settings Accounts Add Account Google Account. Also try install the latest version of the App store APK.

    I am running version 4.2.2.

I tried updating but it didn't work.

I tried to download Google play services but when it asks me to enter my Gmail details, it just gives an error.

I deleted the account, deleted cache for Google play services.

Download and install aptoide App Store. You can download play services from there.

As mentioned by the other's above me,make sure the time and date are correct on the box and you'll need to download and install Google Play Services APK from either the aptiode store or from one of the many hosting services that has the APK.
Also if possible when doing this, connect the box via Ethernet Cable to your router.

I have the box reset last night and deleted all the stuff on it.

    Installed kodi 17. 1.

It seems to be working fairly well, except sometimes gets stuck while buffering.

    Thanks everyone

My box m8s pro (https://m.geekbuying.com/item/M8S-PRO-Android-5-1-1-RK3229-4K-TV-BOX-373151.html?Currency=USD) says it's got Kodi installed, it's not. Anyway I'm trying to get an app called all4 to work, but it it says my box is rooted and will not work for this app. Can I turn off and on the root. I,ve a UK location.

What i did was a complete reset. Then o installed Kodi 17.1 Magica. And then Durex built which is running great. I have found if you don't reset the box then apps used to crash frequently which was very annoying.

Found Kodi ,had to input code into calculator, hidden menu. Managed to unroot the box, but can't get all4 to work, also Netflix is preloaded, but not working. Have sideloaded without success, and deleted and used pure apk, without success.
