Hi guys, we have a concrete stairs in a new build and the prices for timber cladding is much greater than expected (oak). We’re thinking of doing a simpler step but with a carpet runner. After research sisal, coir etc. carpet seem to be most appropriate for stairs. Any pros and cons, where to buy, things to be wary of??

We put down sisal carpets in the upstairs hall and bedrooms about 20 years ago , very fashionable and expensive at the time, total disaster, very difficult to remove stains , if you clean one section it will always dry out a different color and may shrink, also faded under sunlight
