Are there any Entry Level Jobs anymore?

Was in the UK a couple of days ago for recreational reasons. I walked by a Recruitment Agency and seen an ad on their window looking for an entry level recruitment agent. I can't say I was too interested in the job itself but was taken aback in that they were actively advertising "Entry Level".

It seems like in Ireland "Entry Level" is frowned upon and company's keep on giving the obligatory "1-2 years experience essential" for an entry level job, which can be off putting for a lot of people. Either that or they genuinely don't want a true "entry level" employee.

So what's the gig, are there any jobs with reasonable career prospects actively advertising for actual Entry Level or Trainee employees? *

*Direct cold calling sales seems to have a lot but they seem to go through staff so easily it's barely worth it

I would say it's likely a shortage of experienced staff and they needed to lower the entry criteria to get more people to interview. Likely for that role initially being able to use a basic level of Word, Excel and decent phone manner and a drop of common sense would be all you need.
