    Yesterday I was speeding. I was doing 131 in a 120km zone on the motorway. When I seen a garda very well hidden with a speed gun standing out of the car. Just wondering what the penalty points are like and fines are? And how exactly I receive them?

    you're possibly OK. Many speedoes are 10% out so maybe you were doing less than you think. Wait til you get a ticket before you panic.

    131 is a rather specific speed to quote? did you get that from GPS or your speedo?
    your speedo will overstate your speed, as mentioned above.
