Hello. This summer I will be taking my first trip to Ireland. I’ll have 2 weeks to spend, starting in Dublin where my flight lands. I was hoping to get some pointers as to where to go, what to see etc etc. I travel by myself and pack light so going off the beaten path is not a problem. I’d like to have the opportunity to find places outside the normal tourist attractions and a chance to really get to meet the people and experience Irish culture. Any tips would be greatly appreciated and thank you!

You're very welcome to Ireland, I'm glad you're spending time with us:) What kind of things do you normally find adventurous? Are you a big drinker/non-drinker, do you like towns/cities or hikes and countrysides?

Well at home I spend about as much time as I can traveling by motorbike. I enjoy and am comfortable in both city and rural areas. I love nature. I do not drink frequently but I have been known to tie one on now and then lol. I’m really open to pretty much anything. And thank you for your reply!

Hi and welcome! There is the beautiful Wild Atlantic Way, a fabulous journey which would see you take in many beautiful areas. The west coast is stunning but so too is the northern coast. There's lots of islands to visit too, Raitlin, Arran Islands and Achill, Clare Island is worth a visit too. Galway is well recommended, a city with a town feel to it. It's a student city so it s full of life, live music and a great place from which to visit other places- Spiddal, The Burren, Kinvara. While in Dublin definitely take a visit to Marshes Library, the oldest purpose built library in Ireland. It is stunning and so full of atmosphere. Of course there is The Book Of Kells in Trinity library too. The Hill of Tara and Newgrange are not too far from Dublin and totally amazing too. Be prepared for wet weather, just dress accordingly. As with everywhere else you could spend over the odds of you don't shop around. Enjoy.
