Hi, I have a 2010 vw caddy with a 113,100 kms on the clock, it's a genuine van I bought it from vw two years ago. My question is, it's due a service now and it will cost around 270 euros form vw, or can get it done with a local garage for less, I was told though if a injector went in my van which it is liable too since they give bother that if I have a vw service history that vw will cover this, is this possible on a eight year old van, thanks for any help.

Does the van have a full VW service up to now?
If it does it might be worth getting a service with VW, if something goes wrong there's a small chance they could cover some or all of the cost as a goodwill gesture.
Your warranty is well gone at this stage so any repair would fall under goodwill.

Having said that, it is an 8 year old van, they may just refuse any claim.

The timing belt has not been done by vw, they wanted 480 for that, got it done for less.

Just take it to a good indy if they are a good bit less than vw's price. Just make sure they are using good quality parts and the correct oil.

I would be very surprised if vw would cover anything on an 8 year old van especially as you are the second owner.
