Starting in sheep as a hobby

Hi all
I have been thinking about renting a piece of land in country side in Leinster as a grazing land and then to buy few Sheeps and chickens as a
Hobby kinda thing. The plan is to keep them in this rented land. I was checking around and I could rent few acres land for under 1000€ a year.
The problem is that I don't know the laws of Ireland about this kinda thing.
Can anyone tell me please if it's allowed to keep build a shed on the rented land and then keep the Sheeps and chickens there.
Where can I get more information about this???

The whole plan is a side kinda hobby and not a business...

To rear sheep and keep poultry hobby or otherwise - you will need to register for a flock number etc and be aware of a range of regulations relating to same

Are you planning on keeping the sheep in sheds all year ?- not sure that will be workable tbh.

To stock the land with sheep and / or fee range poultry you will have to erect very specific types of fencing to ensure your stock dont stray and for predator control

A water supply will also be necessary and and a electrical supply for a shed for lighting etc

Plus buying-in winter forage animal & poultry feed

Also you will have planning requirements for building and waste management depending on the set up

For sheep you will also need to consider the need for shearing and dipping

Security considerations as well

Do you anything about farming in Irish conditions?

Living at a distance from your stock could also be problematic

It's a lot of work and big outlay all in

Get an acre or two someplace that’s somewhat well fenced. Buy 2-3 ewes with a 1-2 lambs each in April and give them 1kg of nuts between them on the ground for a week to help them settle. Bring them a churn of water each few days.

This will give you an initial sense of what it’s really like being responsible for animals.

Ask around the area for the acre or two. Someone might have it around an old house, etc.
