Hi, looking for the usual advice!! Removing wallpaper in house we just bought and looking to paint the walls. Its a1962 house. Wallpaper is coming off easy enough and walls seem in decent shape. What is the best approach to ensure smooth finish after painting. Once wallpaper fully removed, do i wash weeks down and then what do i do before painting?

    Thanks for help and suggestions!

Wash with a scouring sponge to remove old paste. Sand if necessary. wipe down with a damp cloth. Then, I generally prime the walls with an acrylic primer/sealer ( about 40 euro per 10 litres ). Then paint away as per normal. The primer/sealer will stop any glue or staining showing through the top coat

Use sugar soap with the scouring pad. It lifts the glue and grease off the walls
