When I go back to work from maternity leave, they have a company closer to my home where they do all shifts( night shift would suit be better). The place I work in has only day shift , and I'm with them over 10 years. It would cost me too much on childcare to get 3 kids minded. There is no creches near me so going back on days is out of the question. Can the company refuse you a transfer, even if they have vacancies on the night shift in the other Company closer to home. I haven't asked yet I'm just wondering if they did refuse, would I have any come back....thanks

No, they wouldn't be obliged to let you go on the night-shift.
