Probably a very basic question but we have run a cat 6 cable from a patch panel inside to an outdoor garden room (outdoor type cable)

Originally it was just wired as a jack, but i have since bought a Ubiquiti in wall ap so i need a plug on the end, can i just cut the jack off and put a plug on as normal ? nothing specific to consider?

Yes , just cut it and put a new end on.

Or just buy an adaptor, you will have to get crimpers etc so an adaptor might work out cheaper.
