So I think I've managed to save SMS Texts from old Handset to Google Drive. And I want to get them onto my new Handset. So what do I do now?!? It seemed to transfer everything successfully and it transferred calls too... Don't know exactly what it would transfer in terms of calls?!? Like save lists of Phone Number dialled and received is it?! I havn't got a clue. Anyway. What got transferred was 2 Files called sms-today'sdate and calls-today'sdate. Both these Files are xml. So, what do I do with them?!? If I try open or click on them they open into gobbledy-gook like a Wordpad or Notepad. What exactly is their purpose?!? Can I get them to open as normal sms text messages / conversations or what exactly is an xml file for??

The standard way would be to use an app to back up your messages and calls to drive, then use the same app to restore them to the new device.
