    Hello all,
I came here out of curiosity to see what your thoughts are. Iv read countless posts on here and on other forums from want to be entrepreneurs who all seem to ask the same question, "how much is it to develop an app"? Most questions get the usual responses anywhere from 20 -30k ,50-100k and 100-200k etc

Surely with all these cloned apps now available wouldn't it be easier to modifying these apps at a more reasonable rate as a lot of the coding and scripting is already in place.

I can never understand the big rush to developer an app, would it not be better and cost effective to build a website first and maybe a website app first before splashing out on creating apps for both iOS and Android on an idea that's not certain to succeed.

What's your thoughts? Is the App the ultimate tool?

Easier to modify someone else's code that could be of any quality and terribly architected? Probably not. Also, software developers don't really want to hack around on another persons code just to make some similar clone.

As for responsive web apps first - do people really use them in the same way as native apps? They tend to serve different purposes and the experience isn't very good. Hard to gain a lot of traction with a responsive web app on a mobile device.

Native apps aren't the ultimate tool, they're different tools. They've a different look/feel and aren't supposed to just be wrappers for website functionality/content.
