    Hi All,

I have decent sized PAYE over-payment due back from Revenue for 2017.

I want to make the one off pension contribution for 2017 in 2018 but don't have the savings yet to make this happen.

Can I claim the PAYE refund now and wait a few months until I have enough saved to make the pension contribution (essentially 2 tax submissions) ? or will this get flagged by Revenue ?

    Thanks,
    TK

Yes you can. You can make a one-off pension contribution for the previous tax year until 31 October of the following year. And Revenue's systems can handle both the refund and the one-off contribution as separate transactions without any problem.

    Great, thanks for confirming.

Can I submit the Form 12 twice (instead of the P21) without issue? I have medical expenses that I want to claim.

After you have submitted your original Form 12, it is possible to submit an Amended Form 12 for the same year.
