I need to get a new Gas boiler - this week...

Looking for recommendations from you guys before I get the wrong one...

I'd like one that gives instant hot water if possible...

I have no attachment to the copper cylinder and if that can go all the better.

Largish semi-d house - 8 or so rads - two powered showers in the house.
To be fitted in utility room so looks or size not important.

Vaillant Combi maybe?? what spec would I need??

    thanks....

Any recommendations at all lads? Plumber is coming tomorrow and I’d like to have some idea about what’s possible when I talk to him...

I have a chance at putting in something more intelligent than the old boiler so don’t want miss chance at what to ask for.

Something that can connect to nest would be cool- but yeah got water on demand

Or at least being able heat water without rads.

    Ta.

Viessmann, Intergas, Bosch...all good makes, but look at the warranty too.

For a combi, the Intergas is the best going, plus the most efficient in hot water. But your big problem is you cant have power showers with a combi. You cant have a pump after the boiler, only before.

So either keep the cylinder and get a system boiler, in which case id still side with Intergas due to the heat exchanger, or change to a combi, pump into the cold water inlet pressurize the whole house and replace your shower with shower valves, but with similar if not better performance due to the pump.

Great info - thanks - was hoping my new monsoon shower pump wasn't going to be an issue - but yeah makes sense. Thanks.

Absolutely avoid ARISTON as gas boilers go.

There is one in my apartment that is relatively new ( a couple of years old ) and it is much much less reliable than the old one it replaced.
It literally seems to break or encounter various errors several times a year.

So boiler installer guy (yup - Rgi) here and gone -

He is recommending Ideal Logic 24 to me as thats what they install most... I would have to go elsewhere to get a Bosch.

I've seen "Ideal Vogue" recommended here - is that something I should push for or will the Logic be ok?

I am requesting also an magnetic filter also to go with it - that ok or would it restrict the flow anyway?

18 rads and a cylinder for shower pump to heat.

    thanks.

If I was going for an Ideal, I would boost the extra for the Vogue, 10 year warranty, and a good boiler design IMHO.

No the magna clean would not restrict the flow, and highly recommended on any system (make sure the system is being power flushed before new boiler is fitted)

I just got an Ideal Logic to heat 9 radiators. Replacement for vokera.

Toasty warm. But the main thing I notice is lack of noise!
