Need help choosing between these 3

We are looking at getting rid of one of our current cars as its costing too much. Selling our car, less the loan pay off will leave us with an amount to get one of the three below and was wondering if anyone had any opinion in relation to a do's and don'ts for any of the options (all have full service history with main dealer):

Volvo XC 90 - 2012 - 50,000km -
A6 - 2011 - 64,000km -
330i Convertible - 2008 - 55,000km

We do some soft roading (very rarely), so my sensibility is leaning to the volvo. If we have a kid it would also be handy (we currently have a land cruiser).

In saying that we have a mazda 6 so one kid shouldnt be an issue with that (plus the dog).

The BMW is the oldest but looks lovely. Is the A6 too boring?

First of all define what type of car you want then draw up a shortlist. If it's a big premium SUV type shortlist the xc90, BMW x5 and maybe a range rover sport.

If it's a big German saloon you have the a6, 5 series and e class.

If it's a convertible with 4 seats, you have the 330ci, probably an a4 too and maybe clk convertible.

How you came up with the list of 3 there I'll never know! All nice cars but completely different target markets.

If you have any kids, rule out the 330ci.
If you have more than 2 kids that need kids seats rule out the a6 also.

I like big German saloons so I'll vote Audi out of those 3. Should be cheaper to run than xc90.

I love the 3 series convertible but I think the e46 up to 2006 looks far far nicer than the e92 from 2008. Some beautiful.ones ģoing for peanuts. Possible 2nd car for me seriously toying with the idea of continuing to run an older 5 series and a 3 series manual convertible instead of moving up to a newer 5 series for close to same cost.

AHHH stop talking sense. i want the 3 series but the XC90 is the way to go as we're planning having a kid in the next year or so and we have a monster size dog.

I basically put X amount into a car search under 55,000km and they were the pick of the list.

Xc90 for you so. I've a Labrador and she forties the inside of my car after walks/swims she can be manky. I changed car to a full leather interior last year for ease of cleaning and smell of damp dog it was getting a bit much on the half leather half velour I had. So make sure it's leather.
A 3 series open top is not for you I don't think!

I have full leather with our current car but it has perforated type holes in so the mutt wrecks it.
