I've one here it's a duel power type was very disappointed in it as I've a tm 125 here too there is no comparison in the 2 tractors.
If u are going looking at one try to get one with a sizu engine as the ones with perkins are very heavy on diesel
BTW they are usually 109 hp but can be re mapped up to 140 hp as they have same engine as a 6480...

Thanks lab man . Any other type of massey that you would recommend as I rely like the make and I have a 1983 massey ferguson 290 that never misses a beat. I wanted to get something bigger for a conditioner . Slurry ect so that I could do my own. Thanks again

It depends on your budget if you want to wait with massey and are looking for approximately 140hp, you could lookat the 3645, 8120, 6290 (be about 125hp) or a 6490.

Thanks for your reply. Just wondering do any of ye have any experience with any of these tractors or which do ye feel would be the most trouble free and most suited. Thanks again

We have a 3645 here, we find it good alright but would imagine it being far too big for baling. We have a 3085 also about 110hp and use that for our own bales (less than 100). We mainly use the 3645 for dump trailer work, land levelling and other bits around the farm.. We have it at the moment feeding bales but thats purely because of tyres. Its a Perkins 6 cylinder phaser turbo, mated to the 32 speed dynashift gearbox.. Good view from the cab and decsnt spec considering its 94, a/c, 40k, front diff lock.

Thanks for that! If I see one I won't hesitate hoping in and having a look at her. Which would be best for contracting mowing , bailing , slurry. Thanks again ðŸ‘

I remember hearing a Scientist from DCU on the radio one morning (RTE from memory) a couple of years ago where she had studied the economic value that other EU member States gained from the Irish Box (sea fisheries) after we joined the EEC in '73 - Apparently if the value of those catches are taken into account then after Germany, Ireland is the next largest indirect contributor to the EU. As I have posted before - at that time (when joining the EEC) our sea farmers were unfortunately cut short by a belief that land farming was more important at that time. Time moves on and here we are 45 years later and Marine species are in decline with over fishing whilst been infiltrated with micro plastics

Are the 5400 a bit light. Would the 6 cylinder make it better than the 5470 4 cylinder. Which are better power for the least fuel perkins or suisu. Thanks again.

Seems OK heavy wise but won't lift 2 bales on double bale handler

https://www.donedeal.ie/tractors-for-sale/massey-ferguson-135-cabs-/17845609 . Them cabs seem nice but maybe pricy.
Where abouts are you . I no there is someone in ulster that sells alot of second hand parts and cabs . I will continue looking for him.
