After around 4/5years of back pain which has progressively gotten worse I've begun treatment with a chiropractor. I've exhausted all other avenues....
So 5weeks in I've high relief but I still feel quiet week in my back and still have nerve pain now again.
She has diagnosed me with having a tilted pelvis which has misaligned my spine.
She has advised me to work alongside her by no exercise, no heavy work etc until we build up strength again.
It's costing me €40 twice a week. €80 is a lot per week long term.
So my question is.do any of ye have any clue on the length of time I'll need treatment. I know everyone heals differently, but I'm just looking for a rough idea.
    Tks for reading.

really difficult to say, must be a few things going on, as tilted pelvis wouldn't cause that much pain but nerve must be caught somewhere. the fact you are experiencing pain relief is good, and the rule of thumb is if you go to a chiropractor it shouldn't take more than a few weeks. of course people will disagree with me, but if you align your bones right, then need couple months to rework the muscles that have not been working in the right place.

work hard at muscle build up. slow and sure. good luck

    Thank 14thwarrior. Appreciate your time.
So muscle build up is important.
    Thank you.

Stuff you could probably do yourself to build up muscle strength - wouldn't see it as a long term need to see her
When I was 20 I seriously hurt my back, couldn't lift, bend etc, went to chiropractor for a while and he basically just showed me the exercises to do and away I went. Still have intermittent problems to this day which can be agony

I have been through the same thing and am now almost pain free but spend 30 mins daily doing various strength and activation exercises and visit a physio once a month. It a complete nuisance but better than chronic pain. Desk jobs are a killer.

This week is my 6th week going to her twice a week. Hugh relief but would prefer if I could start exercises to strengthen myself. Maybe I'm being inpatient.
A 20 minute light walk my left pelvic side is quiet week.

My pelvis was out my neck and 4 vertebrae. Also a pain in my left arm that had been there for years. Also my elbow was out due to repetitive movement. Got dry needle treatment for the arm which was very painful but worked a treat (1 session) the rest I went to a chiro and it took 4 sessions. During that he fixed the pelvis 3 times as he could only move it slightly each time.

Everyone is different but that's my experience

Tks Stephen. You sound like you got a lot sorted in a short space of time. I'm going to ask some questions at my appointment later.

Np. There is loads of pelvic excerises on the net. A physio will give you loads of pointers too if you think the chiro is taking the piss. Twice a week sounds alot but then again im not a chiro....

I had the same thing with a chiropractor at one stage, looking for me to come in 2 x per week. After several weeks I found it was doing absolutely nothing for me so I stopped going. Not saying it doesn’t work miracles for others but it just wasnt for me.

The exercises I found on the net were by far the most effective thing I did, but I still find I need one session per month with a physio to stay on top of problem areas.

    Hi Mickey.
Tks for your reply. I spoke to her today and she said usually 6 weeks so pending how I am it will go to once a week or once a month.
I'm so deep in and I've got results so far I'm going to have to stick it out. But I'm getting very impatient.

If you’re getting results stick with it of course. Many people swear by Chiros and they clearly work for them. The main thing is you are getting better.
