A bull got hurt in the slats so I put it in a straw shed and jagged it with alymicen L.A. but on further examination it's not foul foot but seems to be sprained above the hoof it's very sore and be can't put it under him at all now wats my options I can't send it to the factory for 28 days so my question is ...is there anything that can be done for a bad sprain or hurt even by a vet

Probably not. Good straw bed and a bit of time and he should come right.

Same happened me over the the winter. I'm not 100% but I think Alamycin LA is used to treat infections?

You could try give a few ml of Recocam under the skin for a week or so. It's an anti inflammatory which is what you'd need for an injury like that to reduce swelling. Keep him on the straw bed and with some time he should come right.

if you can see it visibly swollen just above the hoof or at the fetlock it's worth a vet visit. May be a septic joint there.

Discuss with your vet, anti-inflammatories for pain like Meloxicam have a shorter withdrawal than the alamycin you gave and less pain keeps appetite up so they go back less.

Our bull three years tore one crubeen completely off his right back leg a week before i was due to put him out with cows. He was in savage pain. Got the vet. Clean straw bed beside the cows and rest for about 3 weeks and he was sound bulling away again. This is his third season now. Don't panic, get the vet, rest and little recover time and he will be sound

If its warm to touch i'd be afraid its more than a sprain, possibly a chipped bone or a fracture. Best consult with your vet.

OP we can't really give advice on this on a forum without seeing the animal. Several posters have advised you to get your own vet, at least he'll give you a straight answer.

If the seat's wet, sit on yer hat, a cool head is better than a wet ar5e.

How did you get on? If it’s swolen just above the horn of the hoof and hot there’s a chance it could be an abscess aswell, which you may not see until you get it trimmed abit. Vet should know once they have a look.
