Question about getting to St Paul's Bay in Malta

    Hi all,

I am going to Malta for a few days and I have been researching ways of getting from the airport to my accommodation at Seashells Resort at Dawret il-Qawra in St Paul's Bay.

I have been told the X3 bus goes straight from the airport to this area and stops outside the hotel. Is this true? I have found conflicting information about this.

I've also heard mixed reviews about this bus being slow compared to other forms of transport and routes.

May I ask is there any other regular routes from the airport to this area that would even be within walking distance of the hotel (20 minutes would be fine)?

I got a quote for a taxi from the hotel for €40.00 return. I thought about taking this but I am looking around to see if there is cheaper ways.

Any knowledge or advice would be much appreciated.

Also, mods feel free to move if this is in the wrong forum.

    Regards,
    M

    Hi

Stayed at the Dolmen at New Year and the X3 does go from the airport right to street in front of the Dolmen and the bus station which is one street behind that hotel

I think €1.50 was the fare, took about 1 hour

    Hope this helps

I stayed in St Pauls Bay last year and took a taxi from the airport. It was 25euro. When you enter the arrivals hall, there is a desk to order and pay for your taxi (with a poster/sign stating the fares to each area of the island). You get a ticket and wait for your taxi driver to arrive (it didn't take long). I found the system very organised and it's great that you pay a set rate up front. My flight arrived very late in the evening (Ryanair!) so it definitely felt worth the money at the time.

I've heard from others that the bus takes much longer and isn't a comfortable ride, however if you're on a budget, that could be an option for you.
