System issues with central control for nest install

    Hey all,

So I had a guy come in today to install 2 Nests for my 2 zones. Unfortunately there is a problem with how my heating system is currently set up. Right now I have a gas boiler in the kitchen with one of those mechanical circular "flick-switch" type timers.

In the hot press upstairs there are 2 zone valves and (what looks like) a TRV controlling the hot water. Each of zone valves are connected to mechanical thermostats (one upstairs, and one downstairs). The only control the boiler has is on/off. Neither the zone valves or the hot water valve are connected to the boiler electrically. As it stands there is no way to centrally control the system.

What I would like to know is, what would I have to do to get central control of all of this. Would it be possible to run an on/off control cable from the boiler up the the hot press and then wire into the valves there? Do I need a plumber or an electrician?
