Lads and Lassies, anybody got any recommendations for suppliers of bike cages or alternative bike parking solutions? Capacity for about 30-40 bikes, innovation is good, decent design would be nice, security utmost importance.

    Any recommendations appreciated.

These are very secure but would be expensive. Good in practice however.

You'd wonder why they put a picture of a bike on those. Surely a high voltage sticker or something along those lines would attract less attention and those that intend on using them would be aware of their actual use.

You could buy 40 x Sheffield stands.
I've used Pittman before, based in Kildare I think - very good.
If you buy 25 stands they're €50 each, that price might drop lower if you buy 40.

Please avoid buying those low profile bike stands - pure crap to lock a bike to!

Cheers Ferris, client reckons standalone is ideal, however space will be a limiting factor so probably won't work, we're more thinking along the lines of vertical parking in a secure cage. Client may consider installing an alarm to the cage also - though not sure how this would work in practice.

approach your local fabricator (where are you based) ?
plenty of fab shops around the country who will make something purpose built

Thanks all, think we'll probably go with the sheffield frames in a locally fabricated cage. Have the guidance notes from DCC on good practice so will see what happens.

We have a nice glass / Perspex shelter with 30 stands or so and swipe card access. Much more asteically pleasing than a cage. Also has cctv back to the security hut.

In work we have semi-vertical parking in a locked underground car park with swipe card access and security hut. There is parking for at least 150 bikes in a pretty small space. Only problem I've found is that the "tracks" or "grooves" that the bike wheels sit in are too narrow for an MTB so the rare days I commute on the MTB I can't use the parking. Sort of like the attached.https://www.cycleracks.co/products/sevenoaks-semi-vertical-bike-rack/

How about this? A sort of "vertical Sheldon stand".
