    Hi everyone,

I'm going for a literacy and numerical test at the end of this month for a Retained Firefighter position in Sligo.

Any advice on the test itself and and how to prepare for it?

    Thanks.

The test is pretty straight forward usually. Some reads out two/three paragraphs and you transcribe it. Basically just checking you can write and listen & concentrate for a bit.

The numeracy one is a few maths problems such as a tank 1800ltrs of water and is using 150ltrs per minute how long before the tank empties.

It’s semi straightforward adding, subtraction, dividing and multiplication. If it’s been a while since you did anything maths related no harm to google basic maths problems to just get you back into the mindset of them.

Hope that helps and best of luck with it

Sounds fairly straight forward alright. Thanks for letting me know.
