Hi. Can you recommend mechanic in or around Cork who would be good at T25 and could check it for me before buying and maybe repair what will need to be repaired. Thanks

You could ask Aidan Buckley dismantlers in Rathpeacon, he specialises in vw he sourced and fitted a new engine to a friends t2 doka and I've had a few vw bits off him over the years. If he can't do it he could recommend someone.

IF you ask over on type2ireland forum you will get recommendations.

Thanks he gave mew few advices but won't go up himself. I will test drive it and will try to check all camping equipment. What would you check underneath etc? It has LPG tank underneath does it need to be legalised to use in Ireland? How does it work?

Most common problems with t25 are gearbox failure and rust and age related failure of rubber parts e.g. rubber bushings, exhaust mounts, grommets, gearbox/engine mounts, window seals and weather strips. These vans are very prone to seam rot, rusty arches, rusty/perforated drivers and passenger steps, serious corrosion under window / windscreen rubbers, perforated sills, collapsed sliding door track etc. Most Irish ones have a lot of fibreglass and isopon on them.
