So I was driving home the other night from town, I was driving down by the Lord Mayors Office. Normally, I'd continue straight ahead merge onto Nassau Street, but since the last time I was there, there was a sign saying no straight ahead except for taxis, buses, trams and cyclists.

So the only option I had was to turn left down Anne Street. When I reached the end of Anne Street I ended up on Grafton Street, there was a sign saying no right turn so I turned left.

This brought me up to Stephen's Green Shopping Centre and I continued up that way and went right and down by Gaiety and Sinnot's and onto Clarendon Street.

Driving on Grafton Street is illegal and I will potentially be up in Court for dangerous driving and lose my licence.

No, but the place is riddled with cameras (presumably) and all it takes is for one person to report me.

Cameras are only checked when there is an incident. So hope there was no robberies, assaults that night and they won't be checked. Also anybody who saw you maybe things you are a guard as that's all who ever drives up there. I wouldnt worry too much about it.

Even if it is reported, tell them you where lost.

You'll be fine. Stop worrying about nothing.

I crossed the road when the man was still red yesterday. There were no cars or people about. I might lose my license. Terrified at the mo.

Because the junction was after the "no straight ahead" sign.

If I am caught, is a driving ban / loss of license a potential outcome? I checked my dashcam, my max speed was 10 km/h driving down.

If your driving / lack of attention to signage is as bad as you say, maybe you should voluntarily give up driving in the city centre.?

I'm not being sarcastic - many people have issues driving where there are so many one way streets / many no turn rules etc.

Don't know about them, but a site-ban for being a re-reg troll has already arrived

Delivery at set times are allowed on Grafton Street... What time were you???

Did you not think of just turning around it's not like you would have had huge amounts of traffic.

You went hear anything about the incident again.

However, based on your comprehension of how the world works displayed in your first post, I am not sure if you should be in control of a vehicle

Cmon Lads. Give the op a break as he is looking at a lifetime ban from driving and trolling on Boards. With possible transportation to Van Diemens Land.

If a tree falls in a forest and nobody hears it, does it make a noise?

No idea what the outcome will be OP but if any re-assurance I can safely say that from years of driving in Dublin City, Dawson St. is one big Fck-up from directional signage perspective and anyone who takes a wrong turn on that street doesn't deserve any penalty points- it's a fcking Joke and I pity any tourist or non-Dublin driver trying to figure out the piece of SH!T of a road they've put in place since the Luas arrived.
